Gebsattel is a municipality in the district of Ansbach, Middle Franconia. She is a member of the administrative community Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Geographical Location
Gebsattel is located in the natural park of Franconia, about three kilometers south of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, close to the border with Baden- Württemberg.

History
Originally there were two places that the older Kirchdorf left der Tauber from the time of the Frankish conquest and the younger castle village right der Tauber, which was in the 11th century belonged to the Counts of Rothenburg - Komburg and named after the last owner of this home, the Countess Geba ( Gebasedelen = seat of Geba ), received. After 1400 were about three -quarters of the property to the Benedictine Abbey Komburg in Schwäbisch Hall, while a quarter of the residents were Rothenburg subjects. It was not until 1810 came Gebsattel the Kingdom of Bavaria. Until the local government reform were among the districts Gebsattel Eckartshof and Rödersdorf.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, until then independent municipality Kirn mountain was incorporated ( with Pleikartshof, Speierhof, Wildenhof ). On May 1, 1978, added Bockfeld.

Clubs
The Musikverein Gebsattel was founded in June 1927 to frame ecclesiastical celebrations musically. The club is now a brass band, has about 38 active members. 2002/ 03 he built a separate event hall with an adjoining rehearsal room.
The volunteer fire department is composed of 34 fire brigade service provider. Affiliated with the fire squad Rödersdorf with 12 other fire service providers of services.
On May 18, 1968, the FV was founded 68 Gebsattel, he now has about 400 members.
In April 2005, the Protestant youth Gebsattel country was founded.

After the last municipal election on March 2, 2008, the council has twelve members who are all common to the group list. The turnout was 64.1 %. Another member and chairman of the municipal council is the mayor.

The coat of arms description reads: By a silver shaft pile split of blue and red, front herschauender a golden, red bezungter lion's head with a silver chevrons in the mouth, behind a silver ibex hull.
