Geographical Location

Colmberg is located in the natural park of Franconia on the Upper Altmühltherme. Neighboring municipalities are ( starting in the north clockwise): Market Bergel, Oberdachstetten, teaching mountain, Leutershausen, Geslau and diaper Bach.

History

To 770 the plant a wooden attachment to the " piston Mountain" takes place. Founding of the Old Instead (old name for Colmberg ). Colmberg is 939 with the duchy of Franconia fiefdom. Emperor Otto III. 1000 gives the Wildbann ( hunting rights ) to Colmberg the diocese of Würzburg. Colmberg 1128 feud of the Counts of Hohenlohe. To 1150-1240 removal of the old attachment to the imperial castle Colmberg among the German emperors and their overseers ( never occupied ). 1254 tears Count Friedrich von Truhendingen the fiefdom Colmberg after extinction of the Staufen emperors in itself. The Count Frederick VIII and Konrad von Truhendingen Colmberg sell for 6200 pounds Haller pennies to Burggraf Friedrich IV of Nuremberg. To 1320 is Colmberg seat of a count's castle (later margravial ) Oberamt with Vogt and Kastner. 1361 first mention of "Old Workshop " (market Colmberg ). 1375 first mention of the parish church of St. Ursula. Burggraf Friedrich VI. 1408 lives on Colmberg to save money and 1415 Margrave of Brandenburg. 1449 burning of the town by the Rothenburg. In 1500 Colmberg is the seat of a margrave Wildmeisterei ( Forestry Department ). The Margraviate is from 1500 part of the Frankish kingdom circle. 1525 burning of the town by the peasant mob of "Red Konrad ". 1528 introduction of the Reformation by Margrave George the Pious. 1631 burning of the town by imperial general Tilly. The market falls Colmberg 1791 Prussia and is the seat of a 1797 Vogt Office of Justice Office Leutershausen. With the Act of Confederation, in 1806 the city became part of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. The castle is in 1880 after the dissolution of the Retirement Office privately owned. In 1972 the communities of Auerbach and bendability partially and the community Oberfelden very close to the market town of Colmberg. The communities Binzwangen and Poppenbach close on 1 May 1978 also.

The Colmberger district Häslabronn was awarded the 1992 Europa Nostra medal.
