Emeringen

Emeringen is a small town in the Swabian Alb southwest of Ulm in Baden- Württemberg ( Germany ). It belongs to the administrative community Munderkingen.

Neighboring municipalities are Rechtenstein and Zwiefaltendorf. The population is almost entirely Roman Catholic denomination. The development of the population is declining (currently about 140 ).

Emeringen is the smallest independent community Württemberg. Honorary Mayor is Joseph Renner ( elected on 10 October 2010 ). The council consists of eight members.

Highest voter turnout in the constituency Ehingen in state elections in 2006, the highest CDU vote share in Selbiger choice ( around 80 %).

The Emeringer were happy mocked in the area as "the Hummeler ". In his humorous dialect poem D Hummeler the local poet Michel Buck (1832-1888) tells the anecdote with pleasure, why they have come to this peculiar name.
