Erastus Harper

Erastus R. Harper ( * July 14, 1854 in Michigan, † May 12, 1927 in Denver, Colorado ) was an American politician. Between 1907 and 1909 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Colorado.

Career

The source location on Erastus Harper is not very productive. He was born in Michigan and lived for some time in Akron in Ohio. Later he came to Colorado, where he worked in the mining industry. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. In 1906 he was elected to the side of Henry Augustus Buchtel Vice Governor of the State of Colorado. This post he held 1907-1909. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate.

In 1915, Harper State Commissioner for Insurance was (State Insurance Commissioner ); 1919-1924, he served as State Representative for budget and efficiency (Budget and Efficiency Commissioner). He died on May 12, 1927 in Denver.
