Ted L. Strickland

Ted L. Strickland ( born September 17, 1932 in Austin, Texas; † 14 March 2012) was an American politician. Between 1973 and 1975 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Colorado.

Career

About the youth and education of Ted Strickland nothing is handed down. Prior to his political career, he served in the United States Army. After that he worked as a petroleum information specialist in the oil industry. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. Between 1967 and 1969 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Colorado; 1969 to 1973 and again from 1975 to 1992 he was a member of the State Senate.

In 1972, Strickland was elected Vice- Governor of the State of Colorado. This post he held 1973-1975. Yet he was deputy governor John David Vanderhoof and until 1974, Chairman of the State Senate. Since 1974 is no longer at the same time chairman of the Senate after a constitutional amendment, the Lieutenant Governor of Colorado.

Between 1983 and 1992, Strickland was under the new constitution President of the State Senate. In the years 1978 and 1986 he ran unsuccessfully for the governorship. He was also active in a number of geology and oil associations. He was also a director of the Denver Rescue Mission and the Colorado Humane Society. Ted Strickland died on March 14, 2012.
