Fladnitzer murder affair

In 1950 the place was known throughout the region through a series of robbery murders that occurred on Fridays, because on this day the men received their weekly pay and contributed as cash home. The murders were never fully understood. A putative perpetrator was indeed convicted in 1951, a few years later acquitted in a retrial after the two main prosecution witnesses had recanted their statements.
