Head of village in Raabtal is a municipality with 658 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the south- east of Styria in the district of Southeastern Styria. From 1 January 2015 it is merged in the Styrian municipality structural reform with the municipalities box Bach, Gniebing - Weissbach, Gossendorf, Auer Bach, Mühldorf in field Bach and Raabau, the new community will continue to use the name " field Bach".

The council consists of nine members and is since the municipal elections 2010 mandates the following parties together:

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 June 1997. Blazon (Coat of Arms description): " right diagonally divided by gold and red, farbverwechselt in each field mill wheel and curved from the front corner a field yellow star forward and out of the sign foot behind a dog tooth growing back. "

Culture and sights

  • Located northwest of the town center is Castle Grove field, the largest moated castle in Styria. The present building dates from the Renaissance period. Four wings surrounding a huge, equipped with arcaded courtyard. In Hainfeld Castle Joseph von Hammer- Purgstall, one of the pioneers of the Oriental lived.

Sons and daughters of the town

  • Irmgard Schlögl (1921-2007), one of the first European Zen masters and the author of several books; in their home less known than in England, USA and Japan.
