Gökhan Ünal ( born July 23, 1982 in Ankara) is a Turkish footballer who currently plays for Ankaraspor.
Youth career
Gökhan Ünal began his club football career at Petrolofisi and played here until 1997. He then moved in 1999 to the youth from the Süper Lig club Gençlerbirliği Ankara.
Club career
Ünal began in the 2000/ 01 season, his professional career at Gençlerbirliği Ankara, where he could not be maintained. Gençlerbirliği initially lent him to the second team at Gençlerbirliği OFTAŞ, then followed by other ceremonies. In Gençlerbirliği OFTAŞ Ünal was only the first half of the season 2001 /02. With OFTAŞ he played in the 3rd Liga and won with ten goals. Therefore Ankaraspor loaned him out for the entire second half of Gençlerbirliği Ankara. Gökhan Ünal fell into a deep form and shot in the second half only a goal for the Panthers, so they were no longer interested in a common future. In the 2nd league with Yimpas Yozgatspor he played a bad season, in 19 official matches Ünal met only three times.
In the 2003 /04 season he joined Kayserispor, could quickly claim a regular place in the 2nd league and was prolific with time. During his first season at Kayserispor ( in the Süper Lig ), he was rarely used and was considered a super-sub, as he scored very important goals in the last match days and thus the club saved from relegation. He became famous for his two goals in the final minutes against Galatasaray Istanbul, as he headed two headed goals for a 2-2 draw. In the season 2005/ 06 he then made a breakthrough and was charged with 25 hits in the Süper Lig scorer. In addition, in 22 minutes he succeeded at the 33rd Round on May 6, 2006, a hat-trick ( 14min., 26min. , And 36min. ) At the 7:2 win against Manisaspor, Gökhan Ünal total shot on the day all four goals. Gökhan Ünal moved during the winter break of the 2009/10 season for giants Fenerbahce. There he signed a three and a half year contract until 31 May 2013. The transfer fee was 3.5 million euros. In addition to the transfer fee Burak Yılmaz transferred to Trabzonspor. Under the new coach Aykut Kocaman Gökhan Ünal came rarely. For the second half of the season 2010/11 he was thus borrowed for the remainder of the season at Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor.
For the season 2011/12 he moved to his old site of action Kayserispor. He came as partial consideration for the exchanged after Fenerbahçe Serdar Kesimal. 20 February 2012 it was announced that after mutual agreement with his club his running contract was terminated.
In the last week of the summer transfer window 2012 will be change to the Turkish first division club Karabükspor was announced. In one and a half years for Kardemir Karabükspor Ünal played 19 league games and four times hit the target. For the second half of the season 2013/14 he moved to Ankaraspor, in the second Turkish football league.
National
Gökhan Ünal made his international debut for Turkey on 1 March 2006 in a friendly against the Czech Republic. On 28 May 2006, he scored against Estonia in a friendly match his first international goal. He played so far 15 A- international caps and scored four goals. Despite the stakes in the 2008 European Championship qualifiers Gökhan Ünal was not nominated for the European Championship squad in 2008.
