Goongarrie-Nationalpark

The Goongarrie National Park (English Goongarrie National Park ) is a 604 km ² national park in the region Goldfields in Western Australia, Australia. The dominant landform is the Mallee and Mulgabuschland.

Location

From the Goldfields Highway between Kalgoorlie and Leonora branches about 20 km south of Menzies from a dirt road to the east. On this one happened after 35 km, the border of the national park. Apart from this road that leads to their further course through the entire park, there are no visitor facilities.

History

The area of present-day national park in 1893 for the first time explored by prospectors. Two years later the city Goongarrie was officially founded, named after a nearby lake. The original meaning of this term is unclear.
