Helmut Wechselberger

Helmut Berger AC ( born February 12, 1953 in Jerzens ) is a former Austrian cyclist.

As a late entrant in the cycling he celebrated many successes and subscribe to the list of winners of numerous cycling races, both among amateurs as well as professionals. In 1987, he went together with the Austrians Johann Lienhart, Bernhard Rassinger and Mario Traxl for third overall in the 100 km team time trial at the World Championships in Villach. In 1988, he won the Tour de Suisse with a lead of 1:25 minutes on the Canadian Steve Bauer. At the time of this victory changes Berger was about 35 years old and therefore the oldest winner of the "Tour de Suisse ". (As of 2013)

As a professional exchange Berger drove in the same era as the Swiss cyclist Urs Zimmermann and Tony Rominger. The more time winner of the Tour of Austria has been working since the end of his career as a banker.
