John Ainsworth-Davis

He participated in Antwerp at the 1920 Summer Olympics. In the individual race, he finished fifth in 50.0 seconds. As a member of the British team in the 4 x 400 - meter relay team, which contested the occupation Cecil Griffiths, Robert Lindsay, Ainsworth -Davis and Guy Butler, he won the gold medal in 3:22,2 minutes. He was the only one on the team who could never win a national championship: Butler and Lindsay were once each AAA champion in the 440 y, Griffiths twice won the title over 880 y.

In World War I he was a member of the British aircraft corps. He then studied at Christ 's College, Cambridge. After his studies he worked as a urologist and was secretary of the Royal Society of Medicine. During World War II he worked as a surgeon in Cosford for the Royal Air Force.
