Kalübbe

Kalübbe is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

Kalübbe located about 5 km east of Wankendorf and 3 km south of mountain ash (Holstein) on the main road 430.

History

1341 Kalübbe is first mentioned as Karlybbe. The name probably means hollow spruce root or bark peeling space and comes from the Old High German. A Bronze Age grave mounds and other finds from Paleolithic point to a long history of settlement in the area of the municipality.

Policy

Of the nine seats in the municipal council has the voter community AWK since the municipal election 2008, five seats, the CDU and the SPD have two seats each.
