Mathias Seger

Mathias Seger ( born December 17, 1977 in Flawil ) is a Swiss ice hockey player. Since the 1999/2000 season he played for the ZSC Lions in the National League A on the position of the defender.

Career

Seger began his career with the EHC Uzwil before he played between 1996 and 1999 for the SC Rapperswil -Jona in the National League A. Since 1999 he has been a regular for the ZSC Lions, with whom he was in 2000, 2001, 2008 and 2012 Swiss Champion and twice the IIHF Continental Cup won (2000 and 2002). Furthermore, Seger won with his team in 2009, the Champions Hockey League.

Seger took over for the 2005/06 season, succeeding Mark Streit the captaincy at the ZSC Lions. In the 2009/10 season he scored a total of 51 points scorer in 48 games of qualifying, this meant Karrierebestwert for the Swiss national team. The ensuing season 2010/11 was not as desired with a plus / minus value of -25 seen throughout the season, which meant the worst value to the team of the city of Zurich. The start to the 2011/12 season due to a cheekbone fracture missed Seger, which he had contracted by a punch of SCB player Johann Morant. Mathias Seger is a longstanding member and currently has 279 inserts capped player of the Swiss national ice hockey team. The defender was so far at 15 World Championships for Switzerland on the ice, the world took part only Petteri Nummelin, also with 15 World Cup participations equal to many world title bouts. He took for his country at the following tournaments:
