Mazda 727C
The Mazda 727C was a race car prototype which was built for Mazdaspeed for use in the 24 - hour race at Le Mans in the group C2. It replaced the 1984 717C and put a further development of the Moon Craft construction represents which used the same 2- rotor Wankel engine, Mazda 13B type.
Two 727C were used in 1984 in the 24- hour race at Le Mans and occupied the 4th and 6th in the group C2. However, two Lola T616 Mazda struck with the same engine, the 727C and occupied the 1st and 3rd place.
The 727C was still in some races in the World Sportscar Championship in 1984, finished at the end but only the 10th place in the C2 Constructors Championship after two private teams. In 1985, the 727C was replaced by the 737c.
