Mazda Xedos 6 (1992-1994)
The Mazda Xedos 6 was a mid-size sedan by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda, which was located above the Mazda 626.
In June 1992, Mazda began selling the Xedos 6 in Germany, half a year after its launch in the Japanese market. Overall, by autumn 1999 72.101 vehicles were produced. Of which have been sold in Germany about 20,000 pieces.
History
The Xedos 6 was available only as a saloon with initially only one motor and is the European counterpart to the Eunos 500 in Japan. The 2.0 -liter V6 with 106 kW ( 144 hp) should confirm the desired Mazda 's image as a luxury model. 1994 still got a 1.6 -liter 4- cylinder in-line engine with 83 kW ( 113 hp ) was added.
Both engines were revised in August 1994 and made now 79 kW ( 107 hp ) and 103 kW ( 140 hp). Externally, the rear lights were changed, it now came to the Japanese model is used ( yellow / red instead of white / red). In addition, the rear spoiler was attributable to the trunk lid.
Mid-1996, even changed the Mazda logo on front and rear.
There was the Xedos 6 in two trim levels:
- Business, with Alcantara seat upholstery
- Exclusive, with leather seat upholstery
As extras there was a cruise control, automatic climate control, a power sunroof and an automatic transmission, which was available for both engine versions.

In the fall of 1999, the production of the Xedos 6 was set. Mazda solved the model and positioning strategy as a failure. A successor or the plans for it does not exist.
