Milan Baroš ( born October 28, 1981 in Vigantice, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech football player. He was previously at Banik Ostrava, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, FC Liverpool, with whom he UEFA Champions League winner was in season 2004/ 05, as well as at Galatasaray and Olympique Lyon.

Career

Clubs

Baroš started his career with the club Banik Ostrava Czech tradition and was 18 years old regulars at the first division for the next three and a half seasons. In 76 league games he came up with 23 goals.

Liverpool FC

He joined in January 2002 for 5.3 million euros for Liverpool in England. The main reason for this was the Liverpool manager Gérard Houllier. Despite his goals in the Czech Republic Baroš was in England still a blank slate, which was also a reason that Baroš did not get the permission to play for the Premier League immediately. At that time, the Czech Republic was not yet in the EU, and so the player had a certain number of international matches have completed, the Baroš but had not yet. In the season 2004/ 05 he was then fully recovered and he wanted to work out a permanent place in Liverpool's attacking formation. Despite offers from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, he stayed with the " Reds ". But there was strong competition: the French top scorer Djibril Cissé, his young compatriot Sinama Pongolle, the Englishman Neil Mellor and winter Fernando Morientes. Despite the injury Cissé Baroš was never 100% regulars and he was replaced frequently. However, after a total of nine hits he could win the Champions League at the end of the season with Liverpool. Although he was under Benítez as well as under Houllier Joker, Houllier was criticized by him violently during the season.

Outcome

Milan Baroš changed in 2005 for a transfer fee of € 8.84 million to Aston Villa. During the winter break of the season 2006/ 07 he moved to exchange with John Carew to Olympique Lyon, where he could play with his coach from Liverpool days, Gérard Houllier again. However, when Alain Perrin 2007 at Olympique Lyon took over the coaching chair, Baroš came gradually less and less used. Galatasaray

National

Baroš became famous when he shot the U21 National Team 2002 European title. His debut wearing the national jersey he had already given on 25 April 2001 against Belgium.
