Montreal Junior Canadiens

The Canadien junior de Montréal (English Montreal Junior Canadiens ) were a junior ice hockey team from Montreal. They played from 1933 to 1961 in the Quebec Junior Hockey League and from 1961 to 1972 in the Ontario Hockey Association.

History

Junior Canadien de Montréal was founded in 1933 as a farm team of the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League. The cooperation of both teams lasted until 1967. Originally the team took part in the game until 1961 operation of the Quebec Junior Hockey League. Then they changed to the Ontario Hockey Association, where she remained until 1972 due to the professional competition run. In the summer of 19972, which was founded in Quebec Major Junior Hockey Meanwhile League of OHA threatened a lawsuit to settle one of the franchises in the largest city of Québec. To solve this problem Canadien junior de Montréal received a one-year suspension for the OHA. During this time the franchise from Montreal changed its name in Bleu - Blanc- Rouge de Montréal and the OHA awarded the license for the Canadiens a year later to Kingston, Ontario, where it then played under the name Kingston Canadians.

The greatest successes of junior Canadien de Montréal were winning the Memorial Cup in 1950, 1969 and 1970, as well as winning the George Richardson Memorial Trophy in 1950, 1969 and 1970 and the J.
