Münster-Sarmsheim

Münster- Sarmsheim is a municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the community association Rhein-Nahe, which has its headquarters in the town of Bingen am Rhein. Münster- Sarmsheim is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geographical location

The wine town of Münster- Sarmsheim is between Bingen and Bad Kreuznach on the Nahe River about two kilometers above its confluence with the Rhine.

History

The community was founded in 1928 by the merger of Münster, Münster railway authorities also called for Bingerbrück, with the southern Sarmsheim.

Parish council

The local council in Münster- Sarmsheim consists of 20 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Natural Monuments

Economy and infrastructure

Festivals

  • Once a year in Münster- Sarmsheim the scoring takes place. Here on the first weekend of August is celebrated, dancing and drinking. To the accompaniment of music and the Münster- Sarmsheimer Nahe wine is the festival every year magnet for young and old. Traditionally, the notch begins Friday with a service at the Church of St. Peter and Paul and the keg tapping of the mayor. The notched ends Monday night.

Traffic

  • Directly through the village runs the B 48, the Bad Kreuznach and Bingen am Rhein connects.
  • The Federal Highway 61 is reached after about 3 km at the exit Bingen -Mitte.
  • The place is also connected directly in rail transport on its breakpoint Münster- Sarmsheim on the Nahe Valley Railway with Bingen Hbf via Bad Kreuznach on the Alsenztalbahn with Kaiserslautern Hbf.
