Nick Palmieri

Nicholas Palmieri ( born July 12, 1989 in Utica, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey player who plays for EHC Red Bull Munich in the German Ice Hockey League since August 2013.

Career

Palmieri was in the Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection selected in the second round by 30 out of the Erie Otters. For the Otters, the striker of 2005 was active until 2008, before it was delivered at the beginning of the season 2008/ 09 on the league rivals Belleville Bulls. There he completed his fourth and final year in the juniors.

After the Americans had already been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the third round to 79th place by the New Jersey Devils, he played from the 2009/10 season for their farm team, the Lowell Devils in the American Hockey League. For Lowell he had completed some games for the first time towards the end of the season 2007 /08. After good results at the Devils Palmieri was appointed in January 2010 for the first time in the NHL squad of New Jersey and played six games. At the beginning of the season 2010 /11, the attacker was again back in the farm team, the now renamed under the name Albany Devils. Since the New Jersey Devils early retired from the playoff race in the current NHL season, Palmieri is found from February 2011 permanently back in the squad of the in rebuilding franchises.

Shortly before the trade deadline, on 24 February 2012, transferred him the New Jersey Devils along with Kurtis Foster, Stephane Veilleux, a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2012 and a performance-based third-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the Minnesota Wild to commit to Marek Židlický. In the course of a transfer transaction with the New York Rangers who cast Michael Rupp at Minnesota Wild, Palmieri returned on February 4, 2013, together with Darroll Powe in the Atlantic Division of the NHL back.

On August 28, 2013, the Red Bull EHC Munich Palmieri committed. His contract runs until 2014.

Internationally

Palmieri represented the U.S. for the first time at the World Championship 2011 in Slovakia. He came in six games for use, in which he scored two goals and another prepared.
