Raffaele Marciello

Raffaele " Lello " Marciello ( born December 17, 1994 in Zurich, Switzerland ) is an Italian race car driver. He started in 2012 and 2013 in the European Formula 3 Championship and won this in 2013. 2014 he moves to the GP2 series.

Career

Marciello began his motorsport career in karting and was until 2009 mainly in this sport actively. In 2010, he took still at a Kart event part, but its main focus was in Formula racing, in which he departed in the Formula Abarth. For starting JD Motorsport, he won his debut race. In the further course of the season was followed by two more victories, one was made ​​in a non- scoring race to the championship. He was third in the championship. 2011 moved Marciello for Prema Powerteam in the Italian Formula 3 Championship. He finished the season with two wins on the third place overall. With 13 points behind his teammate Michael Lewis, who took second place, he was the second best pilot of his team. In addition, he participated in a meeting of the FIA Formula 3 Trophy 2011 for the Prema Powerteam.

Beginning of 2012 went Marciello for M2 Competition in the Toyota Racing Series, the highest single-seater series in New Zealand, at the start. He won a race and closed the standings to ninth place from. He then moved into the Formula 3 Euro Series, where he received a cockpit at Prema Power Team for the 2012 season.
