Rural City of Horsham

The rural community of Horsham is located approximately 270 km west of the capital, Melbourne and contains the following localities: Wall, Pimpino, Young, Natimuk, Horsham and Nordjuna. The seat of the Rural City Council is located in the town of Horsham in the center of the LGA at the Wimmera River with about 13,000 inhabitants.

Horsham was awarded in 2001 as the "cleanest city in Australia " ( Australias Tidiest Town). It is the largest town in the Wimmera region of the Grampians to the border with South Australia, an agricultural area in which there are mainly cereal crops and sheep.

Famous Mount Arapiles is at Natimuk. The 369 m high quartz sandstone mountain offers ideal rock walls for climbing and is not only popular with Australians, but with visitors from all over the world. Because of its appearance of a secluded mountain is also known as " Ayers Rock of the Wimmera ." The associated State Park also offers a diverse animal and plant life.
