Sjur Røthe

Sjur Røthe (born 2 July 1988) is a Norwegian cross-country skier.

Sjur Røthe starting from the 2006/07 season for the first time in FIS races and won at the 2007 Junior World Championships silver medal in the 20 km pursuit. His World Cup debut came in March 2009 in Trondheim where he however did not finish the race and his first World Cup points he won in November 2009 in Beitostølen. That same season he won, in only his fourth World Cup start, his first World Cup victory of the season over 4 x 10 km in Lahti. In the next season, he then ran in November in Gällivare in the individual for the first time in the top ten. His previous best individual result and simultaneously also his first podium in the World Cup, a 2nd place in the 15 km classic race in Canmore on 13 December, 2012. The 2012/13 season he finished as his most successful World Cup season with the 13th overall World Cup ranking from.

At its first World Ski Championships, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, he reached the 4th place in the 50km freestyle. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme Røthe won with the Norwegian Relay World Champion title and in Skiathlon the bronze medal.
