Steenokkerzeel is a municipality in the northwestern part of the Dijlelandes in the province of Flemish Brabant in the Kingdom of Belgium. This community in Flanders has 11,640 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012) and is located on the northeastern edge of the Brussels area. It consists of the main town and the two districts Melsbroek and Perk.

Steenokkerzeel reached certain notoriety as an abode of the last Austrian Empress Zita of Bourbon- Parma, who with her family ( and Others Otto von Habsburg) lived here from 1929 until the beginning of World War II in exile.

The city center of Brussels, located about 12 kilometers south-west, 13 kilometers west of lions and Mechelen 13 kilometers north.
