Stéphane Richelmi

Stéphane Richelmi (born 17 March 1990 in Monte Carlo ) is a Monegasque racing driver. It occurs since 2011 in the GP2 series.

Career

Richelmi began his motorsport career in 2001 in karting, where he was active until 2005. In 2006 he made ​​his debut in Formula racing in the Belgian Formula Renault 1.6 and ended his first season in twelfth place overall. In 2007 he moved to the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and also took part in two races in the Italian Formula Renault. He stayed in two series with no points. In 2008, he initially joined again in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup on, left the series, however, two race weekends left in the season brought no points to be had. He also began until the beginning of the Western European Formula Renault, where he finished 16th overall, and as a guest driver in the Formula 3 Euro Series for the last three races of the season.

2009 started Richelmi to eight out of ten race weekends of the British Formula 3 Championship and finished the season in 19th place overall. He was more successful in the Italian Formula 3 Championship, in which he entered for the third race weekend at RC Motorsport. Richelmi finished two races in second place and finished the season in sixth place overall. In 2010, he remained in the Italian Formula 3 Championship and joined Lucidi Motors. Richelmi won his first race on the first race weekend. With a total of four victories, he was behind César Ramos runner-up. As a reward for this service he received in early December the opportunity to Formula 1 test driving participate for the Scuderia Ferrari.

2011 joined Richelmi for International Draco Racing in the Formula Renault 3.5. With a seventh place as the best result, he finished the season starting on the 26th place in the overall standings.
