Ternat is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region with 15,142 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It consists of the main town and the villages of Sint- Katherina - Lombeek and Wambeek.

Aalst than twelve kilometers northwest of the city center of Brussels, about 14 km east of Antwerp and 40 km north-northeast.

The municipality has a Motorway ( Ternat ) on the A 10 / E 40 and a regional railway station on the line Ostend - Ghent -Brussels. The Brussels National Airport near the capital, is the nearest international airport.
