Texas House of Representatives
The Texas House of Representatives (Texas House of Representatives ) is the lower house of the Texas Legislature, the legislature of the U.S. state of Texas. The Houses of Parliament is composed of 150 members, each representing a separate constituency for two years. The conference hall of the House of Representatives is located together with the Senate in the Texas State Capitol in Austin the capital.
Structure of the chamber
Speaker of the House is the Speaker of the House. He is initially elected by the majority faction of the chamber before the confirmation by the whole Parliament follows. Current Speaker Joe Straus is from San Antonio, a member of the Republican of the 121 election district. Furthermore, a Speaker Pro Tempore is elected by the House of Representatives, which holds the Presidency only during the absence of the speaker. Current Speaker Pro Tempore is the Republican Beverly Woolley of Houston, 136 election district.
