Ussel, Corrèze

Ussel ( Occitan Ussel [ ysel, Vyse ] ) is a commune with 9948 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region; it is the administrative center for the district of Ussel and the cantons Ussel Ussel - Est -Ouest.

Geography

Ussel is situated in the Massif Central on one of the outermost foothills of Plateau de Millevaches on the rivers and Diège Sarsonne. The city lies on the RN 89, which connects Bordeaux via Clermont -Ferrand with Lyon. Through traffic has been taken with the construction of Autoroute A89 from the town.

The community is associated to the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin.
