Lignareix

Lignareix ( Linhares in Occitan ) is a commune of 155 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Ussel - Meymac - Haute- Corrèze. The inhabitants call themselves Lignareixois (it).

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 70 kilometers south-west, Égletons about 30 kilometers southwest and Ussel about five miles to the south.

Neighboring communities of Lignareix are Saint-Rémy in the north, Saint- Pardoux -le- Neuf in the east, Ussel in the south and Saint- Pardoux -le- Vieux in the West.

The Liège, a tributary of the Diège, runs through the municipality.

Traffic

The village is located about 14 kilometers northwest of the junction 24 of the A89 autoroute.

Description: The coat of arms is quartered of silver and blue. In the fields 1 and 4 three red rings, 2 and 3 three mutually floating silver fish, only one swims to the right.
