Uwe Daßler

Uwe Dassler ( born February 11, 1967 in Ebersbach / Sa. ) Is a former German swimmer who competed for East Germany.

Career

In 1985 and 1987 he was European champion in the 400 m freestyle, also 1985 European champions on the 1500 m. 1988, he had his biggest sporting success when he was at the Seoul Olympics in world record time Olympic champion in the 400 m freestyle. Over 1500 m freestyle, he won the bronze medal. For his athletic achievements at the Olympics, he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold.

Uwe Dassler swam for the forward ASK Potsdam; on his special line, the 400 -meter freestyle, he was from 1985 to 1989 five times in a row GDR Champion.

After his career as an athlete, he was Financial Advisor.
