Vin Weber

John Vincent " Vin " Weber ( born July 24, 1952 in Slayton, Murray County, Minnesota ) is an American politician ( Republican). Between 1981 and 1993 he represented the state of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Vin Weber attended the common schools and then studied until 1974 at the University of Minnesota. After that, he was co-editor of a newspaper in Murray County and then president of Weber Publishing Co. Between 1974 and 1975, Weber was press secretary to Congressman Tom Hagedorn. Between 1977 and 1980 he worked on the staff of U.S. Senator Rudy Bosch joke.

In the congressional elections in 1980 Weber was in the sixth constituency of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Richard Nolan on January 3, 1981. He represented this district but only until January 3, 1983 to a term in Congress. Since the elections of 1982, he was the successor of Tom Hagedorn representative of the second district of Minnesota. After several re- elections, he was able to exercise this mandate until January 3, 1993. So that he could complete a total of eleven consecutive legislative periods in the House of Representatives. In 1992, he opted not to run again.

Weber worked briefly as a commentator for National Public Radio. In January 1998 he signed, along with several leading Republicans, sent a letter to President Bill Clinton, in which he called for the removal of Saddam Hussein. Today, Weber is managing partner in a lobbying firm in Washington.
