Connezac

Connezac, Occitan Conasac, is a commune with 79 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the north of the Dordogne in the Aquitaine region. It belongs to the district Nontron and Canton Nontron. It also forms part of the Périgord -Limousin Regional Natural Park.

Geography

The community Connezac located eight kilometers northeast of Mareuil and eleven km west- southwest of Nontron (air line).

It is surrounded by the following municipalities:

  • Hautefaye in the north.
  • Lussas -et- Nontronneau in the east.
  • Rudeau - Ladosse in the south.
  • Beaussac in the West.

The municipality has no center. It is next to the castle Château de Connezac of the following hamlets and villages:

Fontenille, Lafarge, Le Lac Noir, Maine du Bost, Maine Rousset and Roncevaux.

The Mairie is located in Maine Rousset.

The south-western boundary of the parish Connezac is made of Ruisseau de Beaussac, a right tributary of the Nizonne. The river rises in the western municipality and flows south and then in southwest direction to go from Nizonne. The Ruisseau de Beaussac still has a left tributary, which rises in the eastern part of the municipality and then forms its southern border.

The topographically lowest point of the municipality is located 118 meters above the sea at Ruisseau de Beaussac in the southwest, the highest point at 209 meters just south of the hamlet of Lafarge.

Geology

Oldest pending rocks in the community Connezac are flat-lying, fine-grained, beige limestone from the Dogger to see east of Fontenille. In the southwest corner of the township then occurs transgressive Cenomanian, which in the vicinity of the castle from Ligérien ( Unterturon ) is superimposed. The rest of the municipality is covered by Pleistocene colluvium ( fluviatile clays and gravels ).

History

The Château de Connezac goes back to the 16th century.

The municipality has Connezac to 1990, over half of its residents lost. Since then, the population numbers have stabilized.

On the western edge of the town Connezac the D 93 of Javerlhac Coming passes south towards Beaussac. From their branches in the northwest corner from a local road which connects together the various hamlets and then opens at the southwest corner back into the D 93. Along the northern border of the D 95 runs in a north -westerly direction from Lussas after Hautefaye and Mainzac (Charente). The eastern border is touched by a municipal road that creates a north-south cross connection of the D 95 to D 87 ( Nontron - Beaussac ).
