List of districts of the House of Representatives of Japan

This is a list of constituencies for Shūgiin, the Japanese lower house since the electoral reform of 1994 and its present composition. The adoption of the reform Einmandatswahlkreise come since the 1996 election Shūgiin apply. Individual constituency blanks ( in italics list) have since been changed.

The list is ordered by the regional " blocks " grouped the list of constituencies for the changes introduced by the electoral reform proportional representation seats. In any proportional representation block between six and 29 additional MPs to be determined.

Hokkaidō

Hokkaido is divided into twelve constituencies and, like the Tokyo prefecture alone forms a proportional voting block, are determined in the other eight deputies.

Tohoku

The Tohoku region is divided into 25 constituencies since 2002; in the corresponding proportional representation block 14 members are elected.

North Kantō

In North Kantō 32 members are elected directly by proportional representation block are another 20 seats are up for election.

Tokyo

The block consists only of the Tokyo prefecture Tokyo, which is divided into 25 constituencies. 17 MPs are determined by proportional representation.

South Kanto

South Kanto area is divided into 34 constituencies; the corresponding proportional representation block with 22 mandates the nation's second largest.

Hokuriku Shin'etsu

In block Hokuriku Shin'etsu 20 deputies are directly elected by proportional representation and eleven.

Tōkai

The Tōkai region is divided into 33 constituencies, another 21 members are elected in the accompanying proportional representation block.

Kinki

With 48 constituencies and 29 proportional representation seats the Kinki region forms the largest block.

Chūgoku

In Chūgoku 20 MPs are in constituencies and eleven elected in proportional representation block.

Shikoku

Shikoku is divided into 13 constituencies; the corresponding proportional representation block with six mandates of the nation's smallest.

Kyūshū

In block Kyushu, there are 38 constituencies; of proportional representation block 21 mandates strong.
