Malvagna

Malvagna is a town in the province of Messina in the region of Sicily in Italy with 792 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Malvagna is located 81 km southwest of Messina. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture and fisheries.

Borders the following municipalities: Castiglione di Sicilia ( CT), Francavilla di Sicilia, Mojo Alcantara, Montalbano Elicona and Roccella Valdemone.

History

The town originated in the 17th century. From 1928 to 1947, the municipality Malvagna formed with the community Mojo Alcantara the community Lanza.
