Mojo Alcantara

Mojo Alcantara is a city in the province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, with 729 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Mojo Alcantara is located 80 km southwest of Messina on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. The inhabitants are engaged mainly in agriculture and livestock.

The neighboring municipalities are Castiglione di Sicilia, Malvagna and Roccella Valdemone.

History

The town was founded in the first half of the 16th century. From 1928-1947 Mojo Alcantara made ​​with Malvagna the community Lanza.
