Spadafora

Spadafora is a city in the province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, with 5130 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Spadafora located 29 km west of Messina. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture and industry. There are also jobs in the service to the spa. Spadafora is one of the three renowned thermal baths in the province of Messina.

Spadafora is on the A20 / E90 motorway, the next exit is called Rometta and is about 5 km away. From Spadafora S - train station. Martino Railway is running 20 minutes after Messina.

The neighboring municipalities are Roccavaldina, Rometta and Venetico.

History

The town was founded in 1737. Prior to that already existed a settlement.

Attractions

The Baron Palace was built in the late 16th century. The palace is probably the work of the sculptor and architect Camillo Camilliani.
