- MARCH 24: Louis IX. ( " The Saint" ), King of France, calls for a new crusade.
- Late summer: Conradin draws in the company of Frederick I of Baden to Italy to assert his claims to the Hohenstaufen heritage in Sicily against Charles I of Anjou, and is it of Pope Clement IV, who feels threatened by the Swabians, the November 18 spellbound. The army wintered due to financial problems as guests of Mastino I della Scala in Verona.
- October 18: In the Battle of Zuelpich the archbishop of Cologne, Engelbert II of Falkenburg and some of its allies is taken by the Count of Jülich William IV and his allies trapped.
- November: Hugh II, King of Cyprus and Regent of Jerusalem, dies under age and childless. His cousin Hugo, who has so far led the regency for him, is as Hugo III. new king. The reign in the Kingdom of Jerusalem remains unclear for the time being.
- Regensberger feud: Supposedly Glanzberg is destroyed.

- Roger Bacon sends Pope Clement IV ( at its request ) three headings: the Opus majus, the Opus minus ( a summary of the former ) and the Opus tertium. In the Opus majus he discusses alchemical, astrological, astronomical, mathematical and optical as well as other topics. In the Opus minus he recalls, inter alia, the fact that 40 years ago the Paris Bible was created through collaboration of Parisian theologians and booksellers ( 1227 ).
- The Mary Magdalene Gymnasium in Breslau was founded as a Latin school.
- To 1267: Albertus Magnus rejects (see Averroism ) in his treatise De unitate intellectus ( contra Averroem ) theories of Averroes.

- Ulrich von Liechtenstein is Marshal in Styria.
- To 1267/1263: Jacobus de Voragine wrote the Legenda aurea, a collection of saints' lives.
