1974 FIBA Africa Championship for Women
The basketball Africa Cup of Women in 1974, the fourth basketball Africa Cup of ladies, took place between the 24th and 31st place in 1974 in Tunis, Tunisia, which hosted the championship for the first time. Winner was the national team of Senegal that could do unbeaten, win for the first time, the title. In the final, the hosts could be beaten. In the Preliminary Round ( Group A and Group B) was played to five ( group A) or four ( group B) teams into two groups. Each team played against each other each group exactly once, so that each team of four ( Group A ) or three (group B ) completed games ( 16 games have been completed ). The fourth and fifth-placed played from positions five to eight. Algeria was the last of the group A automatically last of the tournament and ended up ninth overall.
