1979 FIBA Africa Championship for Women

The basketball Africa Cup of Women in 1979, the sixth basketball Africa Cup of ladies, took place between 28 December 1978 to January 6, 1979 held in the Somali capital Mogadishu, which organized the championship for the first time. Winner was the national team of Senegal that could unbeaten win the title for the third time in succession.
