1987 Copa América
The Copa América 1987 was the 33rd playout of the South American continental championship in football and was held from June 27 to July 12 for the eighth time in Argentina instead.
Once again there was a change in the discharge mode. We returned to the host in a country, but we did not play as in earlier decades - most recently in 1967 - in league system ( FFA ), but as a tournament with group stages followed by knockout rounds. The group stage consisted of three groups of three participants. The three group winners reached the semi-finals, while defending champions Uruguay was automatically qualified for the semifinals.
Uruguay secured his three tenth title and was the sole record holder of the Copa America against Argentina.
