Alabama House of Representatives

The House of Representatives from Alabama (Alabama House of Representatives ) is the lower house of the Alabama Legislature, the legislature of the U.S. state of Alabama.

The Houses of Parliament is composed of 105 deputies, representing an electoral district respectively. Each of these units includes a fixed average rate of 42,380 inhabitants. Deputies are elected for four -year terms; limiting the terms of office does not exist. The House of Representatives of Alabama is one of only five lower houses in the United States, where this is happening. Virtually all other sub- houses, including the U.S. House of Representatives are elected for a two year term.

The conference hall of the House of Representatives is located together with the State Senate in Alabama State House in the capital, Montgomery.

Structure of the chamber

Speaker of the House is the Speaker of the House. He is initially elected by the majority faction of the chamber before the confirmation by the whole Parliament follows. The Speaker is also responsible for the course of legislation and monitors the shutdowns in the various committees. Current Speaker Mike Hubbard, a member of the Republican from the 79th district election (Lee County).

Other important office holders are the Majority Leader ( Majority Leader ) and the leader of the opposition (minority leader), who are elected by the respective fractions. Majority leader of the Republican Micky Hammon of the 4th electoral district ( Limestone and Morgan County). The Democratic minority faction is led currently by Craig Ford from the 28th electoral district ( Etowah County). In addition to these three key positions, there is the Speaker Pro Tempore.
