Book at the forest ( officially: Book a.Wald ) is a municipality in the Middle Franconian district of Ansbach and a member of the administrative community Schillingsfuerst.

Geography
Geographical location
Book the forest is located in the natural park of Franconia. Neighboring municipalities are ( starting in the north clockwise): Geslau, Leutershausen, Schillingsfuerst and Gebsattel.

The municipality has 12 districts and 4 deserts:

History
Book at the forest had been left by the Principality of Hohenlohe Prussia in boundary settlements in 1796 and so became part of Prussia acquired in 1792 by the Principality of Ansbach. It belonged from 1500 to 1806 the Frankish kingdom circle. As part of Ansbach book fell with this in the Treaty of Paris ( February 1806 ) by exchange of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1974, the formerly politically autonomous communities Haguenau and guest Felden were incorporated to book the wood.
Policy
Parish council
After the last municipal election on March 2, 2008, the council has eight members, all of which belong to a faction group of voters. The turnout was 70.6 %. Another member and chairman of the municipal council is the mayor.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: About silver sign foot, in a silver -reinforced red gezungter, herschauender, border black lion, quartered by silver and black. In 1: a slanting red book sheet; 2: three diagonally left golden beechnuts on golden stems; 3: a slight left lying slumped golden book sheet; 4: a slanting, slumped red book journal.
