Canon of Kings

The Canon of Kings ( also King List of Claudius Ptolemy ) of Claudius Ptolemy contains a list of kings, whose government data show abnormalities with astronomical events. Because of these connections, the canon of the Kings in Assyriology and Egyptology an important source of information on the dating of Regents dar.

As each year beginning Claudius Ptolemy government chose the first Thoth ( 1 Achet I) in the Egyptian calendar, which is why there are differences compared with the actual reigns. Through the ancient Egyptian change year the New Year's Day of the 1st Thoth in the Gregorian calendar February 18, 747 BC on August 23, 30 BC to 179 days backwards shifted. In the year 30 BC, therefore, was the last day of the Egyptian year on 22 August.

Beginning era Nabonassar to the Neo-Babylonian Empire ( 747-625 BC)

Kings who ruled less than one year are not mentioned in the King List of Claudius Ptolemy. Sennacherib is also not mentioned, despite its long reign.
