Cosseria

Cosseria ( in Ligurian: Cosceria ) is a municipality with 1095 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Savona.

Geography

The agricultural community Cosseria located in the northern section of the Ligurian Apennines, on a ridge of the Val Bormida. It belongs to the Comunità Montana Alta Val Bormida and is about 27 kilometers from the provincial capital Savona.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity, the community of zone 4 was assigned. This means that Cosseria is in a seismically inactive zone.

Climate

The municipality is classified under climate category E, since the number of degree days has a value of 2519. This means that in Italy legally regulated heating season is between October 15 and April 15, for 14 hours each day.
