Erik Breukink

Erik Christiaan Breukink ( born April 1, 1964 in Rheden, Netherlands ) is a Dutch former professional cyclist.

Breukink took part several times in the Tour de France, his best overall placement he won in 1990 as third overall. He also took stage wins in all three Grand Tours (Tour de France, Vuelta a España, Giro d' Italia ), in the latter in 1987 in San Romolo a short difficult stage and a year later in Bormio, a legendary stage at the snow and cold on the Gavia pass, in which he suggested the later overall winner Andrew Hampsten.

Once he was a few years as a co- commentator for Dutch TV station NOS, he is athletic director of the Dutch cycling team Rabobank since 2004.

According to him, the stage race Grand Prix Erik Breukink was named, which took place in the years 2002 and 2003.
