Extracts from the Film A Hard Day 's Night (German: selection from the film A Hard Day 's Night ') is a released on November 4, 1964 EP by British rock band The Beatles. It was the sixth EP of The Beatles, which was released on Parlophone (catalog number GEP 8920 ). All four tracks of the EP are from the Album A Hard Day 's Night. The EP was released only in mono.

Background

The release of the EP Extracts from the Film A Hard Day 's Night was a little less than four months after the release of the album A Hard Day 's Night in July 1964.

On November 12, 1964, the EP debuted at number 11 in the EP charts, it was followed by three weeks at No. 2 before they first took over 1st place on 10 December 1964. Overall, Extracts from the Film A Hard Day 's Night held 30 weeks in the EP charts, including six weeks at No. 1 and seven at No. 2 in the singles charts for the EP came up to # 34 in Melody Maker.

Title list

After the buyer received only new songs in the previous EP, the record company returned with Extracts from the Film A Hard Day 's Night with the earlier procedure to provide material already published. As the name of the EP suggests, there are four songs in the first feature film A Hard Day 's Night ( German title Yeah Yeah Yeah) had been used. Each page begins with a faster piece, which is followed by a ballad. All compositions are by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

The cover was identical to the album A Hard Day 's Night with the exception of the label.

Reissues

The EP Extracts from the Film A Hard Day 's Night was pressed up in the 1970s. In December 1981, the EP was released as part of the box set The Beatles EP Collection, containing all British EPs. On 26 May 1992, this set was published as a CD issue.
