Feilsdorf

Feilsdorf is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bitburg -Land.

Geography

The village is located in the south-west Eifel, about 10 km north-west of Bitburg on the plateau between Echtershausen and Mülbach. Of the 3.8 km ² pretty small municipality 58 % is used for agriculture, 35 % are passed by forest. The village is surrounded by orchards and is located at an altitude of 370 m above sea level. NN. The municipality Feilsdorf also includes the " Neumühlestrasse " which is about 2 km outside the center of Genuine Bach.

History

The first documentary mention of the place as " Falstorf " or " Fulstorf " took place in 1473. Today's local name ending in " village " comes in all probability from the Conquest period from the 8th century. Previously Feilsdorf belonged within the Duchy of Luxembourg is partly due to rule New Castle and partly to rule Bettingen within which he came to the parish in 1570 Baustert latest. 1848 were counted in four houses 54 residents. 1895, the population was already 81, wherein doubled the residential development.
