Fort Myers Beach is a city in Lee County in the U.S. state of Florida with 6,277 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

The city is located on Estero Island Iceland and adjacent to Bonita Springs. Miami is located 200 km and 230 km away from Tampa.

According to the 2010 census, the then 6,277 inhabitants distributed to 9,420 households. The population density was 848.2 inh. / Km ². 97.7 % of the population were white, 0.3% African American, 0.2% Native American and 0.6 % Asian Americans. 0.5 % were members of other ethnic groups and 0.7 % of various ethnicities. 2.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 54.5 % of all households lived in 6.4 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 56.6 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 1.81 persons and the average family size is 2.23 people.
