Geography

Harlem Heights is located approximately 10 km south of Fort Myers. Tampa is located about 210 miles and Miami 220 km away.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,975 inhabitants distributed in 632 households. The population density was 940.5 inh. / Km ². 40.1 % of the population were white, 22.6% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.1% Asian Americans. 32.2% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.9% in different ethnic groups. 70.2 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 12.3 % of all households lived in 59.9 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 81.3 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.62 persons and the average family size is 3.79 people.

39.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 35.3 % were 20-39 years old, 18.7 % were 40-59 years old and 7.0 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 26 years. 51.2 % of the population were male and 48.8 % female.

The average annual income was $ 39,792, while 12.0 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 43.23 % of the population spoke Spanish and 56.77 %.
