Olga is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Lee County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,952 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Olga is located on the south bank of the Caloosahatchee River and 12 km east of Fort Myers. Through the CDP leads the Florida State Road 80 Tampa is located about 200 miles and Miami 220 km away.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 1,952 inhabitants distributed in 879 households. The population density was 177.5 inh. / Km ². 86.3 % of the population were white, 5.0% African American, 0.8 % Native American and 2.8 % Asian Americans. 2.9% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.4% in different ethnic groups. 12.6% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 28.3 % of all households lived in 34.9 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 72.8 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.62 persons and the average family size is 2.99 people.

25.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 22.6% were 20-39 years old, 31.0 % were 40-59 years old and 21.1 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 42 years. 49.8 % of the population were male and 50.2 % female.

The average annual income was $ 63,208, while 6.8 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 95.37 % of the population spoke Spanish and 4.63%.
