Tice is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Lee County in the U.S. state of Florida with 4,470 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Tice is located on the south bank of the Caloosahatchee River and is crossed by the Florida State Road 80. The CDP is bordered to the south directly to Fort Myers. Tampa is located about 190 miles and Miami 230 km away.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 4,470 inhabitants distributed to 1,700 households. The population density was 1,490 inh. / Km ². 51.3 % of the population were white, 8.6% African American, 1.3% Native American and 0.9 % Asian Americans. 34.6 % were members of other ethnic groups and 3.4% in different ethnic groups. 62.2 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 20.5 % of all households lived in 41.1 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 64.7 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.28 persons and the average family size is 3.78 people.

32.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 34.4 % were 20-39 years old, 22.1% were 40-59 years old and 11.4 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 29 years. 56.6 % of the population were male and 43.4% female.

The average annual income was $ 36,850, while 31.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 61.90 % of the population spoke Spanish 37.74 % and 0.36 % spoke German.
